Equal Opportunities Officers
According to the Lower Saxony Equality Act (NGG, Part Four, Section Two, § 20), the Equal Opportunities Officers of the Göttingen Academy of Sciences and Humanities have extensive responsibilities and work closely with the Academy's administration.
They are involved in all personnel measures and appointment procedures, develop organisational perspectives, and provide advice on matters of equality, family-friendliness, and diversity. They offer consultation to staff in cases of unequal treatment, for example, when issues arise between colleagues or with supervisors. They also provide guidance on balancing family and career as well as on individual career planning, particularly in the context of fixed-term employment contracts. Additionally, staff may contact the Equal Opportunities Officers in cases of workplace overload or conflict situations.
Of course, the Equal Opportunities Officers also provide support in cases of sexual harassment at the workplace. Please do not hesitate to get in touch if you feel pressured or threatened.
