Portrait Database
General information...
Welcome to the portrait database of the project "Scholarly Journals and Newspapers in the Age of Enlightenment" of the Göttingen Academy of Sciences and Humanities in Lower Saxony. The database includes 770 contemporary portraits, most of which appeared as frontispieces in some of the periodicals which were indexed by the project.
In addition to a simple search, the portraits can be searched using various filter functions.
