Albrecht Schöne Prize

The Göttingen Academy of Sciences and Humanities and Wallstein Verlag jointly award the biennial Albrecht Schöne Prize for outstanding scholarly achievements in the field of philologically grounded and interdisciplinary German literary studies. The prize is intended for early-career scholars who hold a doctorate and whose scholarly work, through its style and methodology, also appeals to a broader readership. The prize is named in honour of Albrecht Schöne (1925–2025), who had been a full member of the Academy since 1966 and an honorary member since 2016. It is endowed with 5,000 euros.
