Edith Marold, Dr. phil.
1989–2007 Professor and Chair for Germanic and Old Norse Philology at the Department of Scandinavian Studies at the University of Kiel.
Born: 1942 in Salzburg
Applicant and chair of the commission of the project Runic Writing in the Germanic Languages (RuneS).
Academic career:
Studies in Vienna and Copenhagen, 1967 PhD in Germanic Philology in Vienna, 1977 Habilitation in Germanic and Nordic Philology at the University of the Saarland in Saarbrücken.
From 1978–1989 Head of the Department of Scandinavian Studies at the Institute of Germanic Philology at the University of the Saarland. From 1989–2007 Professor for Germanic and Old Norse Philology at the Department of Scandinavian Studies at the University of Kiel; retired in 2007.
Edith Marold is member of the advisory board of the European Journal of Scandinavian Studies (Kiel).
