Since March 2010 project researcher in the project Runic Writing in the Germanic Languages (RuneS) at the research unit Eichstätt-München; since November 2022 deputy head of the research unit Eichstätt-München.

1984/85–1990/91 MA course in Indo-European Studies, English Linguistics and Mediaeval Literature as well as English Literature at the University of Munich; M. A. February 1991; 1999 PhD. in Indo-European Studies English Linguistics and Mediaeval Literature as well as English Literature at the University of Munich; 2012 habilitation with a thesis on trilingual first language acquisition.

1991 teaching assignment at the Institute of General and Indo-European Linguistics (Munich); 1992 member of the postgraduate programme (DFG) “Geschlechterdifferenz und Literatur” (Munich); 1997–1998 teaching assignments at the Catholic University of Eichstätt; 1998–2009 research assistant at the professorship for Historical German Linguistics, Cath. University of Eichstätt; April–Juli 2000 project researcher in the DFG project “Gender across languages” (Prof. Dr. Marlis Hellinger and Dr. Hadumod Bußmann); 2000–2003 project researcher in the DFG project “Synchrone und diachrone Studien zu deutschen Markennamen” (Prof. Dr. Elke Ronneberger-Sibold), Cath. University of Eichstätt-Ingolstadt; academic visits at Razi University Kermanshah/Iran (seminars, presentations).

Main research interests:
Germanic texts, in particular Old English and Frisian runic inscriptions, also in the context of other Indo-European languages, esp. Celtic; Writing and writing systems, literacy and literacy acquisition; Semantics, esp. lexical field theory; Multilingualism and linguistic identity; Language comparison.
