Alessia Bauer, Dr. phil.
Professor for Scandinavian Studies at the École Pratique des Hautes Études (Paris)
Born: 1970 in Ferrara, Italy
Since 2010 associated member of the project Runic Writing in the Germanic Languages (RuneS) at the research unit Göttingen; since November 2022 deputy head of the research unit Göttingen.
Academic career:
Academic studies in Germanic Philology and German Literature in Venice, Italy; 2001 Ph.D. at the Universiy of Göttingen on the Runic Poems.
2004–2007 assistant professor at the Georg-August-Universität Göttingen; Oktober 2007–November 2012 assistant professor at the Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München (Institute for Nordic Philology); Habilitation thesis on Nordic Philology on the world view of the Icelanders in the manuscript tradition of the post-Reformation era, Habilitation procedure completed 12 December 2012; 2015 publication of the study Laienastrologie im nachreformatorischen Island. December 2012–April 2019 associate professor at the Institute for Nordic Philology at Munich University; January 2015–June 2016 interim professorship at the University of Oslo
Since October 2019 full professor for Scandinavian Studies at the École Pratique des Hautes Études (Paris).
